कार्यकर्ताले मधेसी नेतालाई पत्याउन छाडे

विराटनगर— जनता समाजवादी पार्टी, नेपाल (जसपा) रुपन्देहीले आयोजना गरेको एकताको प्रथम जिल्ला अधिवेशनमा प्रमुख अतिथि रहेका पार्टी अध्यक्ष तथा पूर्व उपप्रधानमन्त्री उपेन्द्र यादव कार्यकर्ताको हल्लाले खिन्न बने। भाषणको क्रममा कार्यकर्ताले हल्ला गरेपछि उनले बोल्न रोकेर मंचमै मौन बसेका थिए।

‘के गरौं ? छाडौं ? घर जाने ? म धन्यवाद दिएर जाऊँ त ? मलाई पनि छुट्टी,’ कार्यकर्ताहरूलाई सम्बोधन गर्दै यादवले भने, ‘हुन्छ, हवस् त, यहाँहरू सबैलाई धेरै धन्यवाद।’

भाषण अधुरै छाडेर उनी अध्यक्षसँगै सोफामा गएर बसेपछि कार्यक्रम सञ्चालक अन्योलमा परे। केहीबेर मञ्चमा सन्नाटा छायो। सञ्चालकले यादवलाई धन्यवाद दिँदै उनका भनाइ सकिएको घोषणा गरे र मायाको चिनो वितरण सुरु गरियो।

३–४ मिनेटपछि मञ्चबाट एक वक्ताले कार्यकर्तामाथि टिप्पणी गर्दै भने, ‘तपाईंहरूले हल्ला गर्नुभयो, उहाँ कसरी बोल्नुहुन्छ ? उहाँको भाषण त सुन्न अन्तर्राष्ट्रिय जगत् नै पर्खन्छ।’ त्यसपछि यादव पुनः माइकमा फर्किए।

‘धन्यवाद हजुरहरूलाई, केही साथीहरूको आग्रहमा चाँडै छाडिदिएको थिएँ, फेरि आग्रह आएपछि फेरि सुरु गरें,’ उनले भने।

भाषणको क्रममा यादवले राजनीतिक परिवर्तन भए पनि मधेशी, अल्पसंख्यक, मुस्लिम र जनजातिको अवस्था उस्तै रहेको टिप्पणी गरे। उनले कांग्रेस र कम्युनिस्ट पार्टीको झन्डामुनि संघर्ष गर्दा पनि ती समुदायको जीवनमा सुधार नआएको बताए।

‘अरूको झन्डामुनि बसेर आन्दोलन गर्दा फाइदा अर्कैले लिन्छ,’ यादवले भने, ‘जनसंख्या धेरै हुँदाहुँदै पनि राज्यमा मधेशी समुदायको प्रतिनिधित्व कम छ।’ उनले जनसंख्याका आधारमा हरेक क्षेत्रमा समान सहभागिता हुनुपर्ने माग गरे।

उनको भनाइमा संघीय लोकतान्त्रिक गणतन्त्रात्मक संविधान आएसँगै व्यवस्था त फेरियो, तर शासक वर्ग उही भएकाले आम जनताले परिवर्तनको अनुभूति गर्न सकेका छैनन्। ‘सत्ता, स्रोत र नीति निर्माणको पहुँच उही वर्गमा सीमित भएकाले त्यही वर्ग सम्पन्न बन्दै गएको छ,’ यादवले भने।

राज्यका हरेक तहमा जनसंख्याका आधारमा प्रतिनिधित्व सुनिश्चित गर्न मधेशी, मुस्लिम, जनजाति, दलित लगायत समुदायहरू संगठित र चेतनशील हुनुपर्ने उनको जोड थियो।

Madhesi Leaders Losing Credibility Among Party Cadres

Biratnagar — Upendra Yadav, Chairman of Janata Samajbadi Party, Nepal (JSPN) and former Deputy Prime Minister, appeared visibly disheartened during the party’s first district convention on unity held in Rupandehi. While delivering his speech as the chief guest, he abruptly paused and sat down on the sofa after cadres created a commotion.

“What should I do? Should I stop? Go home? Shall I just thank you and leave? I need a break too,” Yadav remarked to the disruptive cadres, adding, “Alright then, thank you all very much.”

After abandoning his speech midway and sitting with the chairperson of the program, the emcee was left confused. A brief silence spread across the stage. The emcee eventually announced that Yadav’s remarks had concluded and proceeded with the token of love distribution segment.

Three to four minutes later, a speaker from the stage criticized the unruly cadres, saying, “You created a disturbance — how could he continue speaking? The international community itself waits to hear him speak.” Following this, Yadav returned to the microphone.

“Thank you all. I stopped early at the request of a few friends, but resumed again upon further request,” he said.

During his address, Yadav remarked that despite political changes, the socio-economic condition of Madhesis, minorities, Muslims, and indigenous communities had not improved. He criticized the continued loyalty to Congress and Communist banners, arguing that the struggles of these marginalized groups had not led to tangible benefits.

“Others reap the benefits while we fight under someone else's flag,” he said. “Despite our large population, Madhesis still have limited representation in the state.” He demanded proportional participation in all sectors based on population size.

Yadav argued that although the country adopted a federal democratic republican constitution after prolonged struggle, the ruling class remained unchanged, leaving the public with little sense of transformation. “As long as power, resources, and policy-making remain in the hands of the same elite class, they will continue to prosper,” he asserted.

He emphasized the need for Madhesi, Muslim, indigenous, Dalit, and other marginalized communities to become aware, organized, and united to secure proportional representation at all levels of the state.
