एमाले युवा संघ ताप्लेजुङमा सचिव चयनलाई लिएर कुर्सी हानाहान

विराटनगर — ताप्लेजुङमा जारी राष्ट्रिय युवा संघ नेपालको जिल्ला अधिवेशनमा सचिव चयन प्रक्रियालाई लिएर दुई पक्षबीच कुर्सी हानाहान भएको छ। नेकपा एमालेको भ्रातृ संगठन राष्ट्रिय युवा संघको जिल्ला अधिवेशन अन्तर्गत सचिव चयनमा सहमति नजुटेपछि बिहीबार राति हलमै झडप भएको हो।

अध्यक्ष मण्डलले एकलौटी ढंगले नाम घोषणा गर्दै सहभागीहरूलाई ताली बजाउन लगाएको भन्दै विवाद सुरु भएको हो। अध्यक्ष मण्डलका सदस्य दीपक धितालका अनुसार बिहीबार राति बन्दसत्र स्थगन गरी शुक्रबार मध्यान्ह १२ बजेदेखि सुरु गर्ने निर्णय भएको थियो। तर, तोकिएको समयसम्म पनि बन्दसत्र नबसेको र पार्टी कार्यालय नखुलाएको भन्दै असन्तुष्ट समूहले शुक्रबार पत्रकार सम्मेलनमार्फत तत्काल प्रक्रिया अघि बढाउन माग गरेका छन्।

उपसचिव नवीन रेग्मी, कोषाध्यक्ष प्रकाश एभेङ र पूर्व जिल्ला समिति सदस्य दिलकुमार सुनुवारले संयुक्त विज्ञप्ति जारी गर्दै सचिव चयनमा जबरजस्ती नगरिएको दाबी गरेका छन्। उनीहरूका अनुसार यसअघि माघ २० गते सम्पन्न एमाले जिल्ला अधिवेशनमा पनि नाम टाँस्ने शैली अपनाइएको थियो।

गत चैतमा सम्पन्न पार्टी अधिवेशनमा डम्बरध्वज तुम्बाहाम्फे नेतृत्वको समूह विजयी भएको थियो भने बलबहादुर साम्सोहाङ नेतृत्वको समूह पराजित भएको थियो। दुई समूहबीचको सहमतिअनुसार अध्यक्षमा मानिक तुम्बाहाम्फेलाई स्वीकृति दिइएको भए पनि सचिवमा प्रकाश एभेङको सट्टा डेभिड लिम्बूको नाम अघि सारिएपछि विवाद चुलिएको हो। असन्तुष्ट समूहले उपाध्यक्षमा दिलकुमार सुनुवार र सचिवमा प्रकाश एभेङलाई राख्न प्रस्ताव गरेका थिए।

ताप्लेजुङ राष्ट्रिय युवा संघका केन्द्रीय अध्यक्ष क्षितिज थेवेको गृह जिल्ला हो। दसौं जिल्ला अधिवेशनको उद्घाटन पनि अध्यक्ष थेवे स्वयंले गरेका थिए। अध्यक्ष मण्डलले भने विवाद र झडपबारे हालसम्म कुनै आधिकारिक टिप्पणी दिएको छैन।

Chair-Throwing Clash Erupts Between Two Factions of UML Youth Wing in Taplejung

Biratnagar — A violent clash broke out between two factions of the CPN-UML’s youth wing, the National Youth Association Nepal, during its district convention in Taplejung over disagreements in selecting the secretary. The incident occurred on Thursday night after the presiding panel announced names unilaterally and prompted attendees to applaud, leading to a chaotic chair-throwing altercation.

According to panel member Deepak Dhital, the closed session had been postponed on Thursday night with a plan to resume it at noon on Friday. However, when the closed session did not resume as scheduled and the party office remained shut, the dissatisfied faction held a press conference demanding immediate continuation of the selection process.

Vice-secretary Naveen Regmi, treasurer Prakash Eweng, and former district committee member Dil Kumar Sunuwar issued a joint statement urging the resumption of the process. They also alleged that similar coercive tactics were employed during the UML district convention held on February 3, 2024.

During the party convention held in March, the group led by Dambar Dhoj Tumbahangphe had defeated the faction led by Bal Bahadur Samsuhang. Since then, both factions have remained active in the district. While the Samsuhang faction had agreed to accept Manik Tumbahangphe as president, they had proposed placing their own candidates—Dil Kumar Sunuwar as vice president and Prakash Eweng as secretary.

The conflict escalated when the Manik faction attempted to appoint Prakash as vice president and David Limbu as secretary instead. Taplejung is the home district of the central president of the National Youth Association, Kshitij Thebe, who personally inaugurated the 10th district convention. The presiding panel has not yet issued any official statement regarding the incident.
